On this date in 1971, BILL WITHERS released the single AIN'T NO SUNSHINE (June 2nd 1971) Note: The video here is the late Bill Withers performing the classic AIN'T NO SUNSHINE in a BBC concert in 1973. I've sharpened the picture and improved the color. This was released as the B-side to another song called HARLEM. Disc jockeys played this as the single instead and it became a breakthrough hit for Withers, reaching number six on the U.S. R&B Chart and number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
