The halo passes FIA crash tests that apply forces of more than 12 tons from above, equal to the weight of a London bus. It is also tested to resist side and front loads that exceed 15 times the weight of a Formula One car. During dynamic testing the halo withstands a wheel fired at 225 kilometers per hour without failing.
