We are very saddened by the news that the great Lalo Schifrin has passed away. Lalo were maybe mostly recognized for his many classic theme songs and movie scores, but he made his marke on the jazz scene in the late 1950's already, writing for Dizzy Gillespie's big band, and later joining Diz' quintet as well. We got to work with Lalo a lot in the passed, recording several albums, but here's a clip from 1997, the era of colorful band shirts and "Gillespiana", a Dizzy Gillespie tribute project. "
