Here, in the ancient city of Per Sobek, “the Domain of Sobek”, overlooking the blue waters of the Nile, stands the temple of Kom Ombo, also known as the “House of the Crocodile” and the “Castle of the Falcon”. The temple is unique in Egypt, dedicated equally to two gods: Sobek, the ancient crocodile god, and Harwer, “Horus the Elder”, a falcon god.
