Our latest ship fire course (known as Marine Emergency Response or MER) got the opportunity to exercise on board the Stena Line UKIE Adventurer this week. How do you rescue people from high rise buildings ? We have specialised fire engines with hydraulic 100 feet ladders that can be extended to the people waiting to be rescued. Called "turntable ladders" these fire engines carry no water but can be used to both rescue people and fight fires from above.
