This is the last scene in Come and See (1985) that holds any joy. Glasha dances in the rain, laughing, as Florya watches — two teenagers briefly enjoying innocent childhood. The rain feels cleansing, almost like a reset. But it’s an illusion. Moments later, war crashes back in, and the innocence is gone for good. Director Elem Klimov gives us this breath of life not to offer hope, but to show exactly what war destroys. | The Cinema Nerd

Jesse's World on Instagram: "Come and See (1985), the scene of Glasha dancing in the rain on a suitcase symbolizes a fleeting, surreal moment of innocent, manic joy amidst the horrors of Nazi-occupied Belarus. It represents a desperate, temporary escape from trauma and a, perhaps, last breath of childhood for both Glasha and Flyora. Key Explanations of the Scene: Temporary Escape: The dance occurs after a terrifying bombing, acting as a hysterical, surreal release of tension. Symbol of Innocence
