WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump complained Thursday that the United States provided too many weapons to Ukraine under the previous administration, his first public comments on the pause in some shipments as Russia escalates its latest offensive.

The delay comes after Trump told a Ukrainian journalist he would try to make anti-missile systems “available” to defend against Russia’s onslaught.

The decision comes as a heavy blow to Ukraine as Russia recently launched some of its biggest aerial attacks of the war, escalating bombing across Kyiv.
