Russia unleashed a barrage of missiles, drones and bombs across Ukraine early Saturday, killing five people as it retaliated for a brazen attack on air bases days earlier.

The second round of negotiations between the Russians and Ukrainians on a possible ceasefire has ended after about an hour, according to Russian news agencies. State news agency TASS and the Interfax agency cited their own sources as saying the talks were over and that there were no plans to continue the talks later in the day.

Russia peace negotiations got underway in Turkey on Monday in an effort to find a way forward in ending more than three years of war triggered by Russia's full-scale invasion of its neighbor.
