Ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted to practice hybrid model but has also put a condition to allow them to play the matches under the hybrid model as well whenever a global tournament is held in India,

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly turned down the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) proposed hybrid model for ICC events as a solution to ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 standoff.

According to a report by ESPNcricinfo, the PCB is ready to accept a hybrid model for the Champions Trophy, provided they get a written agreement from the ICC and the BCCI ensuring similar arrangements for Pakistan in future ICC events hosted by India.

It is yet to be decided whether such provisions are for the next three years or until the end of the current rights cycle in 2031

The PCB has strongly rejected reports suggesting that Pakistan had "surrendered" in its discussions with the ICC over the Champions Trophy.

PCB have shown willingness to accept the proposal, in a recent ICC meeting, they have urged the governing body to follow the same model when the upcoming ICC events will be held in India. India is set to host the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, and 2026 T20 World Cup (along with Sri Lanka).
