New Zealand won all five of their matches at the tri-nation series, including all three against South Africa. In fact, they have now won nine of their last 10 T20 internationals (L1), including each of the last seven.

South Africa had the match in their grasp for most of the final; however, they fell short by three runs in the end. Matt Henry held his nerves in the final over as he defended six runs off it. New Zealand clinched the T20I tri-series undefeated.
