Jewish pitcher Max Fried has reportedly signed an eight-year, $218 million contract with the New York Yankees, the largest contract ever for a Jewish player as well as for a left-handed pitcher.

DALLAS — Yankees manager Aaron Boone was already a fan of Max Fried’s competitiveness. He’s seen it from afar over Fried’s tenure at the top of the Braves’ rotation. The left-hander’s track record of success speaks for itself.

With Max Fried and the Yankees in agreement on an eight-year, $218 million contract, the Bombers are receiving interest in some of their other starters.
