Former Vice President Kamala Harris gave a rousing speech at the 56th NAACP Image Awards on Saturday night at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, where she accepted the organization’s Chairman’s Award.

In her first major public event since leaving the White House, Kamala Harris chose to wear an all-black look. The former United States Vice President dressed up in a custom LaQuan Smith suit to receive the Chairman’s Award at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday. She was accompanied at the ceremony by her husband, Doug Emhoff.
