Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has been part of a roller coaster season that has featured more downs than ups through 12 weeks. With his team sitting at 4-7 in the final season of his five-year contract, the assumption has been that the team will move on from his services in the offseason.

Cowboys owner Jerry jones says he does not want to tank this season for a draft pick. Fans have other ideas, though.

But team owner Jerry Jones apparently is feeling pretty, pretty good about the Cowboys' road upset victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday. In fact, Jones did not rule out a potential contract extension for his embattled head coach in his weekly radio appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday.

This, as most problems with the Cowboys, comes down to Jerry Jones not being able to admit wrongdoing, never being willing to own up to a mistake, never wanting to listen to others. Cowboys fans might need to get ready for more of the same in coming years.

The Dallas Cowboys may have earned a win over the New York Giants on Thanksgiving, but they’re still a ways away from being contenders. Still, if the Cowboys want to end their season on a win streak,
