Philip Glass has withdrawn his symphony based on Abraham Lincoln from the Kennedy Center, with the award-winning composer writing to the board of the arts institution that its values conflict with the work.

Philip Glass has withdrawn from his scheduled performance at the Kennedy Center in a public rebuke of what the performing arts institution now represents.

Symphony No. 15 was set to have its world premiere at the Kennedy Center in June.
