TSA could soon ease liquid rules

With an end to removing your shoes at the airport, an irritant of modern life is done with. That doesn’t happen very often.
Most travelers know you're limited in what liquids you can bring on a flight, but may not know the exact numbers off-hand. The TSA's 3-1-1 rule can help.
The liquids rule put in place by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) allows for travel-sized containers that are 3.4oz (100ml) or less of liquids, gels or aerosols.
“Foods that are liquids, gels, or aerosols must comply with the 3-1-1 liquids rule,” TSA said on its website.
Despite advances in scanning technology, the TSA still limits how much liquid you can take in your carry-on bags.
One of the most confounding airport policies, the so-called 3-1-1 rule, is unlikely to be stripped away as it could be years until TSA has the machines it needs.
