GRAND FORKS — A bill establishing an immigration-focused law clinic at the University of North Dakota passed the House on Monday, Feb. 24. HB 1600 would allocate some $400,000 over the next biennium to a clinic employing one full-time staff attorney offering low-cost immigration legal services.

All three incorporate some form of cap on year-over-year tax increases and would be funded in part by earnings on the state’s Legacy Fund. One bill focuses mainly on tax reductions for residential property, while the other two would lower taxes for all kinds of property. Each proposal passed with near-total support from lawmakers.
