Petty's Island, in the Delaware between Camden and Philadelphia, once bustled with industry. Plans are now to make it an urban preserve.

An effort is underway to name the Paulins Kill, a 41-mile tributary of the Delaware River in New Jersey, as a National Wild and Scenic River.
