That makes it the fastest American production car ever around the Green Hell, and only the sixth 'standard' production car to go around in sub-seven minutes. Yeah, it do be quick.

If the car does break the seven minute barrier as Ford hopes, it will beat the current American record holder in Dodge Viper ACR, which ran a 7:01.30 lap in September 2017. Of course, a new record might not last that long, what with Chevrolet’s 1064-hp Corvette ZR1 just around the corner.
