As rapper Lil Durk seeks to be freed from jail on a $3 million bond, prosecutors charging him with a 2023 murder-for-hire plot in Los Angeles have unveiled his alleged involvement in a separate 2022 murder.

Lil Durk, real name Durk Banks, was expected to appear Thursday in Los Angeles, where he faces federal charges stemming from an August 2022 shooting there that killed the cousin of rival rapper Quando Rondo — the target of the attack.

Federal prosecutors said Thursday that Durk Devontay Banks — the Grammy winner known as Lil Durk — is linked to a second murder in Chicago and accused him of putting out bounties for other killings, including one for a family member of a witness.
