Reed had a historical season for the Aggies, tossing the most passing touchdowns (25) by an A&M QB since Johnny Manziel in 2013. He also threw for 2,932 yards passing and and rushed for 466 yards and six touchdowns while leading A&M to its highest season win total since 2012.
The finalists are Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love, Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza, Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia and Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin.
Marcel Reed, who led Montgomery Bell Academy to three TSSAA football runner-up finishes in four years, will pass on the 2026 NFL Draft and return to Texas A&M in 2026.
