Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das, arrested in Bangladesh on sedition charges, faces a delayed bail hearing and escalating legal challenges, as his supporters continue to demand justice amidst rising tensions.

On November 26th, a mob hacked lawyer Saiful Islam to death in Dhaka after local court denied bail to Chinmoy Krishna Prabhu. As per media reports, Islam was an assistant public prosecutor who represented the Bangladeshi state.

Chinmoy Krishna Das, a Vaishnavite leader and former member of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Bangladesh, was arrested by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police on charges of sedition.

Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, a former member of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), was arrested from Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday. He was denied bail and sent to jail by the Chattogram's Sixth Metropolitan Magistrate court in a sedition case on Tuesday.

Two Iskcon priests were arrested in Bangladesh amidst rising tensions within the Hindu community. Radharamn Das, Iskcon Kolkata vice president, confirmed the arrests and reported that an Iskcon center in Bhairav was also vandalized.

"We strongly protest such arrests and appeal to the Bangladesh government to give protection to minorities,” claimed Radharamn Das, the vice-president and spokesperson of ISKCON.

ISKCON Kolkata’s Vice-President and spokesperson Radharaman Das shared the picture of the young priest and claimed that he has been arrested.
