An 81-year-old woman was killed and five others were injured when a fire broke out inside a Brooklyn apartment building on Friday, according to the FDNY.

Officials are urging residents to operate space heaters safely after a Thursday night house fire.

The back-to-back fires come a day after another person died in a separate Brooklyn blaze, this time in Sheepshead Bay. The victim in that case remained unidentified on Friday.
