The New York Giants are in the market for a running backs coach for the fifth consecutive year. After just one season under head coach Brian Daboll, Joel Thomas has decided to leave East Rutherford and rejoin the New Orleans Saints in a lateral move.
The league’s combine begins Monday, presenting a chance for Moore and his staff to meet with the prospects in this year’s NFL draft and for the Saints to gauge interest on other topics like a Derek Carr trade.
Thomas, 50, becomes the third running back coach in three years to leave Daboll’s staff voluntarily after only one season with the organization.
Although the Pittsburgh Steelers look to be negotiating with both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields, Wilson could end up on a new team. Teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants have emerged as players. The New Orleans Saints have emerged as a team that could be a serious threat to sign Wilson away from the Steelers.
