A sixth corrections officer was arraigned Monday morning on a murder charge in the beating death of inmate Robert Brooks in Marcy Correctional Facility. Nicholas Kieffer, 33, pleaded not guilty to the second-degree murder,

Robert Brooks died choking on his own blood after three separate beatings and some of the officers involved were released on bail Thursday.

Nine other guards were charged last week in the beating death of the inmate. The top charge was second-degree murder.
