If Ryan Poles want to hire a veteran NFL head coach, Super Bowl champion Pete Carroll is the better candidate for the Chicago Bears than former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel.

Former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel completed an interview with the Chicago Bears for the team's head coach opening, the team announced Wednesday.

The Tennessee Titans announced Friday that they completed a virtual interview with Miami Dolphins senior personnel executive Reggie McKenzie for their vacant general manager position. According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, McKenzie may be the “lead candidate” to fill the role in Tennessee.

The Bears announced their first completed coaching interview, confirming they had spoken to former Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel. Vrabel is also considered a strong contender for the open job with the New England Patriots, and multiple other teams have reportedly expressed plans to interview him.

The Bears have requested permission to interview Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores. Interim Bears coach Thomas Brown also is in the mix, and general manager Ryan Poles said he is open to the idea of trading draft picks for the right candidate.

Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzking was also reportedly up first for a virtual interview Wednesday.
