The Atlanta Braves were again proposed to be a potential trade suitor for a pair of starting pitchers the same weekend Ian Anderson struggled in his Spring Training debut.

The Braves are entering 2025 without Max Fried, leaving their rotation with major questions. With young arms battling for spots and trade rumors swirling, Atlanta’s pitching depth will be tested early.

While he hoped his postseason track record might sway the Braves to call on him to face the Padres, they weren’t comfortable turning to Anderson to make his return on that stage. They wanted him to be fully recovered and strong before his return. Now, it’s added fuel to his fire this spring.
