How Scratch works Scratch is an object-oriented language designed to be simple enough for anyone to use. Instead of writing commands out, users select commands that come with the program.

At a time when parents are eager to give their kids an edge in math and science, several computer programming languages have been developed specifically for children.

The program shows a numerical calculation of the motion of a box with a constant force on it. You change the mass and the force. It “sort of” plots the position as a function of time.
