An investigation is underway after a shooting left a man dead on Christmas Eve in east of Downtown, according to the Houston Police Department.

A late Sunday night shooting at a Spring Branch apartment complex on Blalock Road left one man dead and another wounded, according to Houston police. Officers were dispatched to 1111 Blalock Road at about 10:40 p.m., where they found shell casings scattered around the property but no victims or suspects still on scene.

A Houston man was fatally shot after an argument in East Downtown. The suspected shooter, claiming self-defense, surrendered to police. The investigation continues.

Officials say patrol officers found the victim in an alleyway with at least one gunshot wound before paramedics took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
