Cincinnati Reds 3B Noelvi Marte said he wonders if getting hit by a pitch in the minors led to the strained oblique that put him on the IL this week.

Cincinnati Reds third baseman has been bothered by occasional discomfort in his left side since getting hit by a pitch in Triple-A last month.

The Cincinnati Reds called up outfielder Rece Hinds on Wednesday and placed infielder Noelvi Marte on the injured list with a left oblique strain. Hinds is known for when he hit five home runs in his first six games in the Major Leagues last season with Cincinnati.
