Aerial footage shows flooding on the Grand River because of an ice jam stretching from Painesville to Fairport Harbor.

The Fairport Harbor Fire Department says they have received reports of flooding on High Street and near the Western Reserve Yacht Club. The ice jam started in Painesville and has travelled to Fairport Harbor. Fire chiefs from both areas are teaming up to monitor the situation and alert the public.

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (WOIO) - Firefighters said a large ice jam in the Grand River has created “dangerous flooding conditions” from Fairport Harbor to Painesville. Painesville Fire Chief Tom Hummel is urging everyone to stay from the river as conditions are “unpredictable and can change quickly.”
