HOUSTON — Baylor and LSU have been selected to compete in the 2024 Kinder’s Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium in Houston. The game will be on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 2:30 p.m. It marks both teams' third Texas Bowl appearance and their first meeting since the 1985 Liberty Bowl.

Baylor and LSU will meet in the Dec. 31 Kinder’s Texas Bowl at NRG Stadium, organizers announced Sunday. After starting the season 2-4, prompting calls for coach Dave Aranda’s job, the Bears put together a remarkable turnaround and enter the bowl season as one of the hottest teams in the nation with a six-game winning streak.

Baylor is heading south for bowl season but staying in-state to try and ring in the new year with a win over LSU when the two teams face off in the Kinder's Texas Bowl, the bowl committee announced on Sunday.

Longtime Baylor play-by-play announcer John Morris is being honored tonight in Las Vegas as the 2024 Chris Schenkel Award winner. Morris has been "The Voice of the Baylor Bears" for over 30 years and is receiving the honor from the National Football Foundation.

It will be the first meeting between LSU and Baylor on the gridiron since the 1985 Liberty Bowl. LSU leads the overall series with the Bears, 8-3. The Tigers, winners of their last two games, stand at 8-4 overall after closing the regular-season with victories over Vanderbilt and Oklahoma.
