Former Tennessee pitcher Garrett Crochet made his spring training debut with the Red Sox on Sunday. The former Vol was traded from the White Sox to Boston in Dec. 2024. Chicago traded Crochet to Boston for catcher Kyle Teel, outfielder Braden Montgomery, infielder Chase Meidroth and Wikelman Gonzalez.

FORT MYERS, Fla. — Garrett Crochet made his spring debut Sunday against the Blue Jays at JetBlue Park. The lefthander went 1 2/3 innings, throwing 27 pitches, three short of his 30-pitch limit. Crochet allowed three hits and walked a batter, but limited the damage with his dominant fastball, striking out four.

There was plenty of anticipation for Garett Crochet's first time on the mound for the Red Sox, and for the most part, the outing checked all the boxes.
