The Oscars are making a massive change with the 2025 ceremony that alters how you watch them! It’s no secret that network TV has faded in the ratings over the last decade. The rise of streaming services means even big events like the Super Bowl and awards shows don’t garner the huge ratings they once did.

The ceremony, set for March 2, 2025, will air live on ABC stations as normal, with Hulu users able to watch a taped version of the events starting March 3, 2025.

The Oscars joins the other big awards show early next year, the 2025 Golden Globes, which will stream on Paramount+ alongside being aired live on CBS. Clearly, there is an effort now to make these shows available on streaming. It adds value to the platform and it’s clearly where a lot of the audience wants to be watching.
