Two Massachusetts hikers were rescued after becoming stranded on Mt. Washington. On February 2 around 6 p.m. NH Fish and Game was contacted after 911 received a call about hikers lost off-trail adjacent to the Jewell Trail on Mt. Washington.

The two women called 911 just after 6 p.m. on Sunday after they became lost off the Jewell Trail, officials said.

If a pair of Massachusetts hikers had not properly prepared for a hike on Mt. Washington Sunday, they may not have survived the conditions they encountered, officials said.
