NASSAU (Reuters) - A record-holding diver died during a freediving competition in the Bahamas on Sunday in what officials said was the first fatality in the sport's 21 years of official competition.
A group of about 20 freedivers gathered at the shore of Lake Berryessa on Sunday morning, squeezed into wetsuits and fins, then kicked across the water to a floating platform a hundred yards offshore.
