The College Football Playoff quarterfinals feature four blockbuster matchups involving eight teams that have been spurred to this point in varying degrees by their quarterback play. But there's one QB matchup that appears to stand above the rest as New Year's Eve and the resumption of the CFP approach.
The CFP rankings are set to be released at 7 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Dec. 2. The reveal is the final rankings release before the 12-team bracket is set on Sunday, Dec. 7. The CFP rankings reveal show will air live on ESPN, with streaming options on the ESPN app or Fubo, which offers a free trial.
Ohio State broke the curse! The Buckeyes finally beat Michigan after four-straight losses to the Wolverines. Ohio State rolled 27-9 after falling behind 6-0. Julian Sayin tossed three touchdowns to three different receivers and the Buckeyes’ defense held Bryce Underwood to 64 total yards.
As a result, the Hurricanes will go on the road to face Texas A&M and Alabama will travel for a rematch with Oklahoma as the two standout games of the first round. The first round is rounded out by another rematch between Tulane and Ole Miss, and James Madison taking on Oregon as the biggest underdog of this year's playoff.
