Bollywood thesp Achala Sachdev, who appeared in such hits as “Waqt” (Time), died Sunday in Pune, India, of respiratory failure. She was 88 and had been bedridden for the past six months after a fall.

Achala Sachdev was an Indian actress who appeared in classic films of Hindi language film industry. She later became known for mother and grandmother roles in Hindi films.
