The Commanders are swapping out one kicker for another. Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Washington is signing Matt Gay to a one-year deal and releasing Zane Gonzalez. Gay, 31, was recently released by the Colts.

The Washington Commanders agreed to a record one-year, fully guaranteed contract with kicker Matt Gay, his agency announced Tuesday. A league source told UPI that the Commanders plan to release kicker Zane Gonzalez.

Matt Gay, released by the Indianapolis Colts earlier this month, got a contract worth more than $4.25 million fully guaranteed in Washington.
