Netflix has just delighted fans of the romantic drama Virgin River with the exciting news that they are developing their first spin-off, which is expected to premiere in 2025 and already has a confirmed plot.

Fans of the soapy Netflix drama, of course, will recall when Grayson Gurnsey as admirable young man Ricky spends a final moment with Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale) before he leaves to join the Marines at the end of season four.

Virgin River‘s prodigal son is coming home. As revealed in the just-released trailer for Season 6, Ricky (played by Grayson Gurnsey) will return to the show for the first time since leaving town at the end of Season 4.

Virgin River season six premieres on Thursday, December 19, on Netflix.
