TSA, Real ID
Digest more
The REAL ID Act took effect last May. Some travelers still aren't complying, and now they have to pay for it.
Beginning Feb. 1, travelers without Real IDs or other TSA-approved identification forms will need to pay $45 for domestic flights.
Travelers who do not present an acceptable form of ID to TSA will now be able to pay ahead of time or at the airport — but it doesn't mean they're guaranteed to fly.
