President Donald Trump’s administration has proposed revoking a scientific finding that's long been the central basis for U.S. action to regulate greenhouse gas emissions and fight climate change.

On Tuesday the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency released its proposal to undo its long-standing rationale and legal mandate to regulate greenhouse gases under the decades-old Clean Air Act—part of the Trump administration’s wide-ranging campaign to dismantle federal efforts to combat climate change.

The Trump administration's EPA, or Environmental Protection Agency, has announced a proposal to overturn 2009's Endangerment Finding, which forms the basis of key climate action initiatives as well as curbs on carbon emissions.
