Swiggy, a leading food delivery and quick-commerce app in India, said on Monday that it has expanded its 10-minute food delivery service, Bolt, to more than 400 cities and towns across the country.

Food delivery platform Swiggy is expanding its express delivery Bolt business to tier 2 and 3 cities such as Roorkie, Guntur, Warangal, Patna, Jagtial, Solan, Nashik and Shillong. The company's shares closed higher in Monday's trading session.

Swiggy's 10-minute food delivery service, Bolt, has expanded to over 400 cities in India, including tier-2 and tier-3 locations. Popular cities for the service include Jaipur, Lucknow, Ahmedabad, and Coimbatore.

Cities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have witnessed the highest adoption for Bolt, followed by Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Punjab.

Shares of Swiggy ended 5% higher at INR 495.35 apiece on the BSE today (December 2) after the foodtech major announced expansion of its 10-minute delivery service ‘Bolt’ to 400 cities across India.

Swiggy's shares rose 10% after its muted debut on the exchanges. Several brokerages, including UBS, have initiated coverage, with a Buy rating and a target price of Rs 515. UBS highlights Swiggy’s growth potential,

Swiggy claims that to ensure safety of the delivery partners, they are not informed of the distinction between Bolt and regular orders, and there is no incentive for fast delivery. However, the speed of delivery is optimized by prioritizing delivery executives closest to the Bolt outlets.
