An Arizona resident died of pneumonic plague, becoming the first person to succumb to the disease in the area in nearly 20 years, according to officials.

One person in Flagstaff died from pneumonic plague, the first recorded death in Coconino County since 2007.

"There is an antibiotic for this, but you have to get the antibiotic on board in time," Humble said.
