The Philippines' Kanlaon volcano erupted for nearly four minutes, shooting ash 2.5 miles into the sky and prompting the emergency evacuation of some 87,000 people.

Ash was seen covering homes after Mount Kanlaon erupted in the Philippines. Aerial footage shows the aftermath of the volcanic eruption in Bago, Negros Occidental, on December 11. Buildings, houses, and roads could be seen covered with thick ash and debris from the blast.
