Nearly 50 years after a Kmart store closed off Nicollet Avenue at Lake Street, the City of Minneapolis unveiled its plan to redevelop the site and reconnect the thoroughfare.

The site was previously home to Kmart. The store and its enormous parking lot separated Nicollet Avenue in south Minneapolis.
