The Texas attorney general said he is frustrated with the longstanding tradition that awards the minority party at least some committee chairmanships.

Paxton’s latest tour is the continuation of his efforts in the past year to get political revenge on House Republicans who supported his impeachment.

In the lead-up to the Nov. 5 election, Attorney General Ken Paxton ramped up efforts to put his imprint on rules governing elections in Texas and other states. Paxton filed briefs with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of an Arizona law requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote and Virginia’s late purge of suspected noncitizen voters.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton will be in Tyler next week, he announced Tuesday on social media. Paxton’s visit to the Rose City will be part of a statewide tour on Monday and Tuesday.
