Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is forecast over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh between November 27 and 29. Strong winds, ranging between 45-55 km/h with gusts up to 65 km/h, are likely along the affected coasts. Additionally, rough seas may lead to flooding in low-lying areas and disrupt marine activities.

Rains lashed several parts of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, and the India Meteorological Department said the depression over Bay of Bengal has formed into a deep depression and it is likely to intensify into a cyclonic storm on November 27.

The deep depression is set to bring significant rainfall to coastal districts like Nagai, Karaikal, Thanjavur, Mayiladuthurai, and Ramanathapuram. These areas are likely to bear the brunt of the weather system. The storm’s proximity is expected to bring intense rainfall to the Delta region, which could result in localized flooding and waterlogging.

A cyclone is likely to impact Tamil Nadu starting November 27, bringing heavy rains and strong winds to the region. The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning as the storm intensifies in the Bay of Bengal.

Tamil Nadu has been receiving intense rainfall, especially in Chennai city and nearby districts. As per the IMD, a depression over the Bay of Bengal may increase in severity to a 'deep depression' in the following 12 hours.

The low-pressure system, currently influenced by upper air circulation, is projected to intensify into a depression over the central South Bay of Bengal around November 25. The IMD has also issued a rainfall advisory for Coastal Andhra Pradesh,

Dense fog is expected in parts of northern India, with isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh experiencing fog from November 26 to 30.
