Guy Ritchie has signed on to direct Road House 2, the sequel to Amazon MGM Studios’ hit action movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal. Will Beall, whose credits range from comic book movies such as Aquaman to action flicks including Bad Boys: Ride or Die, is writing the script.

But even then, Liman was not expected to return as director. His 2024 remake was a huge streaming success on Prime Video with over 80 million viewers, making it Amazon MGM's most-watched film debut ever on a worldwide basis.

“ Road House 2 ” marks the third collaboration between Ritchie and Gyllenhaal and their second for Amazon MGM Studios following “Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant.” The filmmaker and the Oscar and Tony-nominated actor also collaborated on the forthcoming action thriller “In the Grey.”
