LAKE CITY, Colo. ( KKTV /Gray News) - Rescue crews helped an elk found tangled in climbing rope near an ice wall in Colorado. Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers said they received a call from ice climbers in Lake City who found a bull elk tangled in rope on Friday.

In early January, climbers saw a distressed bull elk caught in a climbing rope. The elk’s antlers were tangled in the rope as it was lying in the snow, unable to leave. After seeing the elk, the climbers called a Lake City wildlife officer, who called in for backup.
