Mumbai: Eknath Shinde has been appointed as the caretaker Chief Minister of Maharashtra following his resignation on Sunday, leading to heightened political speculation about his successor.

Mumbai: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has tendered his resignation as the Chief Minister on Tuesday at around 11 am. Shinde submitted his resignation to Governor C. P. Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan.

The Mahayuti is set to return to power in Maharashtra, with a thumping victory. The BJP is itself winning over 100 seats, while its allies Shiv Sena and NCP have also performed well. Now, the question on everyone’s mind is: Who will be the next chief minister?
